The 21st CCLC instructor, under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, facilitates and leads programs and activities in accordance with program and center policies.\n\nPart-time hours Monday through Friday (schedule may vary).\n\nEducation/Certification:\n\nHigh school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate\nAssociates Degree (preferred)\nBachelor’s Degree (preferred)\nCertified Teacher (preferred)\n\nSpecial Knowledge/Skills:\n\nAbility to instructing reading, writing, mathematics, and/or music\nAbility to work well with children\nAbility to communicate effectively\nAbility to lesson plan\n\nExperience:\n\nSome experience working with children\nExperience in school setting (preferred)\n\nMajor Responsibilities and Duties:\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.\n\nInstructional Support:\n\nProvide instruction to students under the direction of the Site Coordinator.\nPrepare instructional materials and classroom displays.\nHelp maintain a neat and orderly classroom.\nHelp with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.\nHelp keep administrative records and prepare required reports.\nProvide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.\nSuccessfully incorporate the program vision, goals, and objectives into the activities of the site.\nAssist Site Coordinator in designing, developing and managing program components that lead to positive outcomes for participating children and their families.\nSupport the team that includes the Site Coordinator, Principal, and all other staff, and community volunteers.\nActively participate in staff development workshops that are designed to contribute to personal and professional growth.\nDesign, plan and facilitate activities of students or adults. Create hands-on lesson plans for the coming month in advance.\nRequest needed supplies, materials and support in advance from the site coordinator.\nStudent Management:\nSupervise students during the program, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.\nMake the teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.\n\nOther:\n\nFollow local policies\nFollow 21st CCLC Grant Guidelines\nParticipate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.\nParticipate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.\nFollow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.\nMust be present regularly in person.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\n\nActively participate in all training and staff support activities and workshops required by the program.\nSupervise students and parents during program activities..\nAssist in maintaining the safety of students.\nPerform routine first aid and seek assistance for serious illness/injury.\nAssist in maintaining the maximum number of students enrolled.\nComplete daily reports (attendance, discipline, snack, etc.) for your class.\nComplete weekly lesson plans.\n\nMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:\n\nEquipment Used: Standard technology equipment including personal computer and peripherals.\n\nPosture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stopping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.\n\nMotion: Frequent walking.\n\nLifting: Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desk, and other classroom or adaptive equipment (if applicable).\n\nEnvironment: Work inside and outside with regular exposure to noise (if applicable).\n\nMental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress.
