With locations and projects across North America and beyond, exciting opportunities are waiting for you in dozens of cities.\n\nHere's how an Buyer for PCL Industrial Services, Inc. contributes to our team:\n\nResponsibilities\nPurchases materials, assets and services in accordance with policies and procedures, using cost-effective and ethical approaches and meeting required criteria.\nIdentifies and selects vendors to purchase requisitioned consumables, while meeting criteria such as specification, price, quantity, quality, safety, and delivery date.\nDevelops general commodity knowledge by working with procurement experts, using supplier resources, and acquisition assignments.\nCreates and issues appropriate purchase documents and applying the relevant purchasing and supply agreements to daily purchases.\nDevelops and maintains constructive and customer focused working relationships with stakeholders.\nIdentifies, evaluates, and escalates risks that could affect project deliverables, activities, and schedule.\nCoordinates all aspects of the purchasing process with suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve material discrepancies, outstanding or overdue deliveries, warranty claims, and return of material.\nPrepares and analyzes request for quotes and interprets information requests.\nResolves conflicts between purchaser and supplier for standard purchases.\nUtilizes relationships and awareness of market and marketplace to streamline current processes and introduce initiatives to create value and overall efficiencies.\nMaintains preventive maintenance requirements and minor repairs for operating equipment.\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma.\nBachelor’s diploma or degree in a related discipline is considered an asset.\n1 year of experience in supply chain or procurement is preferred.\nBasic construction knowledge including awareness of procedures, project life cycles, and construction resources and equipment.\nBasic understanding of applicable procurement laws and regulations, procurement best practices and supply chain processes.\nAwareness of commonly used construction materials, permanent/non-permanent materials, services, tools, and equipment.\nClear understanding of “Best Value”.\nEffective negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.\nWorking experience of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.\nYour Work Has Purpose Here\n\nPCL projects are where life happens, where communities connect, careers begin, and progress is made.
