Day.Aspirus Ironwood Hospital in Ironwood, MI is seeking a MANAGER- CENTRAL BILLING OFFICE - CBO to join our CENTRAL BILLING OFFICE team!This position is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to their department within the Central Billing Office (CBO) insurance billing team for all Aspirus entities (hospitals, clinics, post-acute care, etc.). Responsibilities of the role include managing the daily operations of the department and staff, including performance management, hiring, and timekeeping practices. This position will be accountable for implementing workflows and operational efficiencies to ensure the timely billing, follow up, and resolution of claims for the Aspirus system as well as integrating and facilitating industry best practices to align with Aspirus' strategic plan, while achieving departmental key performance indicators, productivity, and quality standards. This position is accountable for ensuring departmental compliance with all applicable rules and regulations as well as providing instruction to staff on updated policies and procedures.HOURS: Full Time 1.0 FTE, 80 Hours BiweeklyExperience/QualificationsKnowledge of billing and collection standards and practices is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or another related field.A minimum of three (3) years' experience in medical billing is required.A minimum of three (3) years' supervisory experience is required.Prior Revenue Cycle management experience desired.Certification as a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) or Certified Coding Specialist beneficial.Ability to use independent, sound judgment with effective decision-making skills.Ability to accommodate frequent interruptions.Ability to prioritize workload.Ability to collaborate, including assisting with building, leading, motivating and coordinating activities of a cross-functional and/or multi-corporate team.Possesses project management and analytical skills necessary to develop and implement appropriate changes.Strong personnel management skills to direct work of and motivate assigned staff.Possess ability to communicate appropriately and effectively. Ironwood's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day.
