This role collaborates closely with estimating, design, manufacturing, project management, customers, and external engineering partners to deliver cost-effective, code-compliant solutions. The position also supports research and development initiatives, design tool enhancement, and continuous product improvement.\nAREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES\nDesign & Engineering\nDevelop and optimize preliminary rack designs and layouts to identify the most efficient and cost-effective solutions.\nSupport the estimating team by providing preliminary engineering designs for project quotations.\nReview project drawings and calculations to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.\nProvide technical guidance and support to design engineers throughout project development.\nCoordinate engineering documentation and support the completion of project title pages and design packages.\nManage the engineering review and PE stamping process for project deliverables.\nProject Support\nCoordinate project requirements and technical details with customers, Engineers of Record (EOR), and external design partners.\nSupport manufacturing, project management, and site management teams by resolving design-related questions and field issues.\nParticipate in site visits as needed to support project execution and troubleshoot field conditions.\nProduct Development & Innovation\nDevelop and improve engineering design tools to streamline structural analysis and preliminary design activities.\nAutomate and enhance the analysis of cold-formed steel components utilizing industry-standard software, including CUFSM and CFS.\nSupport research and development efforts by contributing to new product designs and continuous improvement initiatives.\nCollaborate with R&D engineers to evaluate, validate, and optimize new design concepts.\nBuild and maintain relationships with EOR partners to facilitate acceptance and implementation of innovative designs.\nProfessional Development & Compliance\nMaintain expertise in structural engineering principles, design codes, standards, and analysis tools.\nMonitor and implement changes to applicable building codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.\nParticipate in professional organizations and industry groups to remain current on emerging technologies and best practices.\nEDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING\nBachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nActive Professional Engineer (PE) license required.\nMinimum of 3-5 years of structural engineering experience.\nExperience with structural analysis and design software.\nExperience with cold-formed steel design preferred.\nExperience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and engineering judgment skills.\nKnowledge of structural engineering principles, building codes, and industry standards.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, and customer-facing teams.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software applications.\nWork Environment\nThis position is primarily office-based, with work performed at a computer workstation. Occasional travel to customer sites, manufacturing facilities, and project locations may be required.\nPhysical Demands\nThe position requires prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of materials up to 25 pounds may be required.
