This role is pivotal in shaping the future direction of programming in our organisation and has significant input to R&D Biometrics strategy.\nAccountabilities:\nAs the Executive Director, you will be responsible for developing strategies, providing expert advice, and influencing AstraZeneca’s response to complex challenges within AZ drug development related to statistical programming activities. You will lead the development of Programming strategy within the therapeutic area (TA)/R&D unit and contribute to R&D Biometrics strategic initiatives. You will also be responsible for people development strategy, ensuring compliance to standards and automation usage, and leading Portfolio level programming capacity management.\nEssential Skills/Experience:\n\nDegree in Mathematical (i.e., Applied Math, Engineering, etc), Statistical, Computer Science, Life Science, or equivalent.\nThorough knowledge of the clinical development process from development, launch through life cycle management\nAbility to influence strategically and persuade tactfully to obtain desired outcomes while maintaining effective, positive, organisational relationships\nExperience successfully leading global teams\nEnterprise Strategist\nBusiness Insight and experience of influencing and controlling budgets\nExpert stakeholder management skills on a functional level\nStrong leadership capabilities including ability to drive results and collaborate, communicate, network and influence effectively across a wide range of internal and external partners at varying levels of seniority\nThorough knowledge of industry trends\nActive participation in external influencing forums e.g. PHUSE, Cross Industry Programming Heads meetings)\nConsistent record of innovation delivering improved business outcomes\nDemonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements supporting clinical trials and submissions\nAbility to drive and champion global change across multiple functions and actively advocate and implement more efficient and effective methods / processes\nDesired Skills/Experience:\n\nBroad experience, ideally across multiple therapeutic areas and outside of the fields of Programming\nExperience in leading significant organizational and change processes\nUnderstanding of programming languages (eg, SAS, R, Java, Groovy, Spotfire, C/C++, VBA/VBS, .NET, Python, Pearl, Julia, D3)\nSignificant validated experience designing and implementing business processes.\nWhen we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines.
