In this role, your responsibilities will cover a broad scope of technical services for solar, battery, and wind projects. This role will require providing support for projects ranging across the entire lifecycle (greenfield to operational), with the majority of your time focused on projects in the late‑stage development to NTP phase. The role will require the use of a wide skill set across Electrical, Structural, Civil, cost estimating, energy modeling, and contracting disciplines. The ideal candidate will bring a generalist mindset toward solving the wide‑ranging technical challenges inherent in utility‑scale renewable project development and construction.\nKey Responsibilities Project Technical Evaluation: responsible for the technical evaluation workflow for Solar, BESS, and Wind projects. Specifically: Determination of appropriate system configuration within a given set of spatial constraints, local requirements, and environmental conditions (hydrology, geotech, wind, hail, corrosion, etc.)\nThe way in which the above characteristics affect system design and layout, and subsequently factor into energy production and build costs.\n\nPerformance Engineering support Micro‑siting and layout support\nSolar, BESS, and Wind energy production estimates\nPPA performance guarantee risk assessment\nSystem performance variability and probability of exceedance analysis\n\nCAPEX modeling Project build cost estimating for Solar PV, BESS, and Wind facilities\nSchedule building and cash forecasting\n\nTechnical‑investor interface transaction support for structured finance Communication interface between relevant project stakeholders (Owner, IE, EPC, and Lenders)\nCoordinating completion of general technical due diligence checklists\nRepresenting Owner requirements for project specifications.\nDefining project basis of design\nInteracting with engineering counterparties (e.g., EPC, EoR, and suppliers) to ensure requirements are met for optimal project design.\nReviewing and negotiating technical exhibits within the EPC Agreement\nSupporting EPC RFP process\nManage and respond to technical RFIs\nCoordination of Owner’s Engineering service providers\n\nSupply Chain and Procurement Support Supplier Evaluation & Equipment Bankability Due Diligence (PV modules, batteries, inverters, trackers, wind turbine generators, MPTs, HV breakers)\nSupply chain QA/QC service provider scoping and coordination\nTest lab coordination for PV module accelerated lifetime stress testing\nTechnology roadmap development based on aggregation of industry information\nSourcing forward cost curves from qualified industry reports\nInventory management as needed\n\nDevelopment Support Review project constraints through the development process and provide final review and approval of constraints prior to an EPC RFP\nSupporting project developers with development‑stage technical deliverables (geotech, hydrology, wind/solar met campaigns, RFP questionnaires, etc.)\nCoordinate with Operations & Maintenance teams to implement performance improvement recommendations.\n\nAsset Management feedback loop Engaging with engineering teams on design improvements for future projects based on feedback from operational experience.\n\nQualifications Required\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or related technical field\n5+ years of experience in the renewable energy sector\nDemonstrated expertise in analyzing solar, wind, and/or battery storage system performance\nEnergy modeling software experience: PVsyst, PlantPredict, windPRO, etc.\nStrong understanding of renewable energy technologies and performance factors\nProficiency with data analysis tools and performance monitoring systems\nExcellent analytical and problem‑solving skills\nExperience with predictive analytics and machine learning applications in energy\nStrong written and verbal communication abilities\nLocation This position is available in any of our office locations:\nChicago, IL\nAustin, TX\nCompetitive salary and performance bonus\nComprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance\n401(k) with company match\nPaid time off and holidays\nOpportunity to make a meaningful impact in the renewable energy transition\nLinea Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
