This role provides technical leadership in database architecture, engineering, and modernization efforts while collaborating with software developers, system engineers, and mission stakeholders to implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions. The role also evaluates emerging technologies and recommends innovative approaches that align with the customer's evolving technical roadmap.Responsibilities include:Design, develop, and maintain enterprise database solutions supporting mission-critical applicationsAdminister and optimize relational databases to ensure performance, availability, and reliabilityEnhance existing applications by integrating new database technologies and capabilitiesEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend database solutions to support current and future mission requirementsSupport database architecture, engineering, and modernization initiatives across enterprise environmentsDevelop and maintain RESTful services supporting database-driven applicationsCollaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and implement solutionsTroubleshoot and resolve database performance, availability, and integration issuesLead technical projects and provide guidance to engineering teams as requiredDevelop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational proceduresQualifications include:Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph with this Customer is requiredBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline20+ years of experience performing database administration, database engineering, or database design in support of system engineering, software development, or related technical environmentsExperience with one or more of the following database technologies:Microsoft SQL ServerPostgreSQLMySQLOracle DatabaseAWS Aurora and Amazon RDSExperience developing or supporting RESTful web servicesExperience supporting Windows and Linux environmentsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience leading technical projects and coordinating cross-functional engineering teamsDesired qualifications include:Experience with ArcGISExperience with Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or PowerShellExperience with SharePoint, Power BI, or TableauExperience with Docker, cloud-native platforms, or containerized environmentsExperience with Atlassian tools, including Jira and ConfluenceExperience supporting cloud-based database platforms and enterprise modernization initiativesSalary Range: USD $210,000.00 - USD $230,000.00 /Yr.
