Nexus of Geneva - Core responsibilitiesFood preparation:Wash, chop, measure, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and instructions.Cooking:Cook menu items using various methods like grilling, frying, or baking, and ensure consistency in quality and portion size.Plating and presentation:Arrange and garnish food to meet established standards for both taste and appearance.Kitchen maintenance:Keep the work area, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitized throughout the shift and at the end of the day.Sanitation and safety:Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, properly handle and store food, and ensure a safe working environment.Inventory and restocking:Monitor supplies, restock stations with necessary items, and assist with ordering as needed.Collaboration:Work with other kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.Required skills and qualificationsAbility to follow recipes accurately and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35-40 pounds.Food safety knowledge, and potentially a Food Safety Certification.Teamwork and communication skills.
