Application Development manager","description":"STSI is seeking a highly motivated and result-oriented Java Application Development manager to join our team.\nResponsibilities:\nThe Software Development Manager, as a member of the software product team, is expected to contribute significantly to team goals in the area of software design, development and product support\nThe Software Development manager will provide direction and mentorship for a team of software engineers and quality assurance engineers as well as monitoring and evaluating their performance\nThe Software Development Manager is expected to demonstrate expertise in the areas of software architecture, software security, software methodologies, quality assurance and control\nManaging the full lifecycle application development, with emphasis on agile development (scrum, sprints, incremental design) methodologies\nParticipate in Designing, coding and debugging applications in Java software language\nEnsures the use of sound software engineering techniques to develop solutions that meet customer requirements\nFollows appropriate design, development, and testing methodologies to ensure a quality software product\nSets priorities and allocates proper amounts of time to assigned activities\nMaintains an awareness of interrelationships among activities\nMaintains an organized approach and meets or exceeds agreed upon time and quality standards for end work product\nDevelops alternative courses of action and makes decisions based on logical assumptions and which reflect factual information\nDevelops documentation relative to technical aspects to facilitate current support, development, upgrades, or migrations\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline\nTotal of 8 to 12 years demonstrated experience developing Java/J2EE software using at least five of:\nJ2EE, JSP/Servlets (or similar), Spring, Hibernate, Struts, FreeMarker, JDBC, MyBatis, WebServices/WS standards\n4 years in a leadership role\nExperience managing both Kanban and Scrum teams\nExperience implementing and utilizing Agile methodologies\nStrong foundation in service-oriented methodologies, principles, practices, and modeling\nKnowledge and understanding of multi-tier architectures\nStrong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment\nExperience in UNIX/Linux environments\nN-tier J2EE environments using any of Application Server\nHands on experience with Model-View-Control Architecture (MVC) based applications(e.g: Struts and Spring, Spring boot framework)\nExperience building business high-volume transactional systems is a strong plus\nHands on experience in writing and consuming Web Services (REST,
