(FTI) is searching for a Modeling and Simulation Lead Engineer to support the R&D product group in Menasha, WI.\n\nAs a Modeling & Simulation Lead Engineer in the R&D group, you will be responsible for developing advanced modeling and simulation environments for electrical, thermal, and mechanical systems and enclosures used in distributed energy resources and power distribution. Collaborating with subject matter experts, product strategy teams, and systems engineers, you will create accurate and efficient simulations that meet requirements and support product development. Furthermore, you will develop and oversee the implementation of modeling and simulation processes as critical milestones for development and validation of technologies and products within the Product Engineering organization. Through your expertise, you will play a key role in driving innovation and performance improvements in distributed energy and power distribution systems.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n\nMaster’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.\n\n8+ years of experience in systems simulation.\n\nKnowledge of multi-physics modeling software such as Simulink, Simscape, Simcenter Amesim, GT Suite, or similar OR experience with using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to develop models and conduct analysis\n\nProficient in development and use of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), model-in-loop (MIL), and/or software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulation platforms\n\nStrong understanding of renewable energy systems including solar, wind, power, or power distribution concepts including uninterrupted power supply, power converters, switchboards, and/or other power electronics\n\nDemonstrated implementation of real-world power generation and distribution problems into complex modeling and simulation platforms\n\nDemonstrated development and implementation of modular component models with scalable flexibility for various levels of simulation fidelity\n\nWhat gives you an edge?\n\nExperience with machine learning models generated from data a plus\n\nExperience with development of SIL, MIL, and HIL platforms for verification and validation of controls software\n\nExperience using multi-physics simulation software for systems, computational fluid dynamics software, or finite element analysis software for design\n\nStrong understanding of controls systems, particularly battery management, thermal system management, and energy management software and development and verification through use of simulation frameworks\n\nExperience using version control for modeling and simulation including Git or other similar tools\n\nPhD in electrical or mechanical engineering with demonstrated simulation experience, or demonstrated engineering research background\n\nTravel: 5-10%\n\nWork Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday.
