Position Overview:
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) for the Intensive Care Unit (PICU) will join a highly skilled and dedicated team providing comprehensive care in a 26-bed PICU. This unit accommodates patients from a variety of critical care disciplines, including Cardio Thoracic and Burn patients. The PNP will work with a high degree of autonomy and advanced clinical decision-making, leading care delivery in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive care to critically ill pediatric patients in a 26-bed PICU.
Perform advanced procedures such as endotracheal intubation, arterial and central venous line placement, chest tube placement, bedside procedural sedation, and spinal taps.
Lead and support the interdisciplinary team in PICU/CCU/SCU care, including contributing to quality management and multidisciplinary educational activities.
Engage in research and drive advancements in critical care practices.
Work alongside 7 attending physicians and 7 nurse practitioners to provide 24/7 coverage with varying shifts.
Participate in on-call duties, including a minimum of 6 calls per month and 3 weekend 25-hour shifts monthly.
Qualifications:
Education: Master's Degree in Nursing
Experience: Relevant experience in critical or intensive care required
Licensure:
PA Registered Nurse License
PA Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner License
Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities
