Dr. Malcolm Hayward, Dr. Dan Bradford, and Dr. Thad Beck knew that patients do better at home, in the community where they live and work, and where their support system is already in place. Job Summary: The Patient Account Representative is responsible for analyzing and investigating patient accounts to facilitate payment and resolution. Job Duties / Responsibilities:Review patient accounts to determine solutions for resolving outstanding balancesAnswer all patient phone calls professionally to help resolve any claim and/or billing questionsAble to organize and prioritize tasks to complete all work assigned in a timely mannerRoutinely monitors all high balance accounts to ensure follow up activityInforms departmental leadership of any insurance/patient related issues of importanceMaintains patient and clinic confidentiality and adheres to clinical standards, policies, & procedures.Performs all related duties as required by Insurance Representative Supervisor, Revenue Cycle Manager and Director of the Business Office. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities:Insurance and billing experienceKnowledge of billing policies and regulationsKnowledge of g4/Centricity, OnBase, AvailityKnowledge and experience with CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS codes and EMR systemsKnowledge of medical terminology and medical oncology treatment courseAbility to adapt to changing billing requirements by CMSAbility to handle multiple and conflicting prioritiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentAbility to maintain good working relationshipsDemonstrates attention to detail Certifications/Licenses/Education/or Experience in a related field:1-2 years of relevant experience preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent Physical Requirements: Sitting for prolonged periods of time at a desk.Computer use that requires visual acuity, typing, use of mouse/keyboard, and staring at a screen for extended periods of time.Occasionally lifting objects of up to 25 pounds such as files, office supplies, assisting patients when needed, etc.Walking and standing for continuous periods around the office or clinic as needed.Fine motor skills for tasks like typing, writing, handling small objects or equipment and materials.
