Position Overview
The Hydro demolition Operator is responsible for operating high-pressure water jetting equipment to safely and effectively remove deteriorated or sound concrete for structural rehabilitation. This role requires experience, technical knowledge, and a strong focus on safety and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate hydro demolition robots, hand lances, and high-pressure water blasting equipment to remove concrete, coatings, slurrys, and other materials.
Read and interpret project plans and specifications to ensure work is performed accurately and within scope.
Set up and calibrate hydro demolition systems according to job specifications and equipment guidelines.
Perform routine maintenance, pre-operational inspections, and troubleshooting of hydrodemolition equipment.
Monitor water pressure, flow rate, and nozzle settings to achieve proper removal depth and surface profile.
Safely handle hoses, nozzles, and controls in high-pressure environments.
Contain and manage wastewater and debris in accordance with environmental and regulatory standards.
Accurately complete daily logs, work reports, and safety checklists.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper storage of tools and equipment.
Follow all Penhall safety procedures and OSHA standards at all times.
Provide general support to crew leaders and supervisors during project execution.
Participate in job site safety meetings and ongoing training initiatives.

Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of hands-on hydrodemolition experience required (robotic and manual applications)
Experience operating equipment from major OEMs such as Conjet, Aquajet, or Jetstream preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with diesel engines, pumps, valves, and control systems
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus)
Ability to travel and work overtime, nights, or weekends as required by project scope
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
Knowledge of safety procedures related to confined spaces, fall protection, and high-pressure systems
OSHA 10/30 Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
