{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"8ed014ca028ba28ab604e916","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/8ed014ca028ba28ab604e916","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/8ed014ca028ba28ab604e916","title":"Controller","description":"ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAccounting Operations & Controls\nOversee all corporate and divisional accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll oversight, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting.\nMaintain the Chart of Accounts and ensure the integrity of financial data.\nEnsure effective internal controls for all accounting-related transactions.\nDirect and manage monthly and year-end close processes in collaboration with the CFO.\nMaintain enterprise accounting system access and controls (Timberline/Sage preferred).\nFinancial Planning, Analysis & Reporting\nLead all FP&A activities, including forecasting, budgeting, cost analysis, and profitability reporting.\nProvide leadership with timely financial insights related to performance, trends, risks, and opportunities.\nPrepare, review, and approve monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and sub-ledger tie-outs.\nOversee monthly divisional contract status, cost/sell analysis, under-billed, and project profitability reporting.\nReview and approve commission reports in accordance with contractual agreements.\nAudit, Compliance & Tax\nCoordinate and support all audits and compliance activities.\nReview and approve bank reconciliations and cash transfer entries.\nOversee sales and use tax filings for state and local compliance.\nOversee fixed asset capitalization and depreciation policies.\nReview and approve annual property tax filings.\nLeadership & Team Development\nLead, coach, and develop accounting and finance team members.\nStrengthen internal communication and cross-functional collaboration.\nClarify roles and responsibilities to maximize team effectiveness.\nPromote a positive, high-integrity work environment aligned with company values.\nAdditional Responsibilities\nSupport special projects, system improvements, and process enhancements.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the CFO.\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.\nMinimum of 5 years in a management role, must be within the construction industry.\nStrong background in construction required.\nExperience with enterprise accounting systems (Timberline/Sage preferred).\nStrong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and compliance.\nExceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.\nExcellent communication and leadership skills.\nAbility to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines with high accuracy.\nPay: $91,693.16 -
