This role requires a hands-on accounting professional who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to execute transactions, reconcile accounts, prepare financial statements, and support audit and tax requirements while helping drive process improvements.\nAs a key member of the Finance team, the Controller ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information, safeguards company assets, supports strategic decision-making, and helps build a scalable accounting function to support the company's continued growth.\n\nResponsibilities:\nFinancial Management & Reporting\nPerform and oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll review, fixed assets, and revenue recognition.\nPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.\nExecute month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and account analyses.\nMaintain the integrity of financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.\nAnalyze financial results and provide recommendations to the Director of Finance and executive leadership.\nServe as the primary accounting resource for Deltek Vantagepoint financial data and system-related improvements including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and project accounting.\nBudgeting, Forecasting & Analysis\nAssist in the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.\nMonitor financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and key business drivers.\nPrepare financial models and analyses to support operational and strategic decision-making.\nProvide insights into profitability, cash flow, utilization, overhead, and project performance.\nInternal Controls & Compliance\nDevelop, document, and maintain accounting policies and internal control procedures.\nPerform control activities and periodic reviews to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.\nIdentify financial risks and recommend process improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency.\nSupport implementation of best practices within Deltek Vantagepoint and related financial systems.\nCash Management & Risk Oversight\nMonitor cash flow and assist with liquidity planning and forecasting.\nManage daily banking activities, account reconciliations, and cash management processes.\nReview accounts receivable, work-in-process, and accounts payable activity to optimize working capital.\nAssist in evaluating and mitigating financial and operational risks.\nAudit & Tax Administration\nPrepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and reconciliations for external auditors.\nCoordinate annual audits and serve as a primary point of contact for auditors and tax advisors.\nSupport tax compliance requirements and assist with information requests from external providers.\nImplement recommendations resulting from audits and compliance reviews.\nLeadership & Collaboration\nAct as the accounting lead and subject matter expert within the organization.\nCollaborate closely with project managers, operations leaders, human resources, and executive management on financial matters.\nSupport future growth of the accounting function, including process documentation, cross-training, and potential team development.\nPromote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service.\nStrategic Business Support\nPartner with the Director of Finance to support financial planning and organizational goals.\nProvide financial analysis related to growth initiatives, investments, and operational improvements.\nEvaluate accounting processes, technology, and reporting capabilities to improve efficiency and scalability.\nSupport executive decision-making through accurate financial reporting and actionable analysis.\nExperience:\nMinimum of 8 years of accounting experience, including significant hands-on responsibility for month-end close and financial reporting.\nPrevious experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accountant role; CPA preferred.\nExperience in professional services, architecture, engineering, consulting, or project-based environments preferred.\nStrong working knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.\nExperience with budgeting, forecasting, audits, and internal controls.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nStrong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.\nDemonstrated ability to independently manage a full-cycle accounting function.\nAdvanced proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.\nExcellent communication and relationship-building skills.\nHigh level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.\nLocation\nThis position can be based at any of our five South Florida offices;
