Position Overview:
As a medical receptionist with Professional Imaging, you would play a key role in the smooth operation of the font desk checking in process. Your primary focus would be on providing excellent customer service, coordinating with patients and healthcare providers, and maintaining efficient administrative operations within the diagnostic imaging department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Greeting and checking in patients: You would warmly welcome patients as they arrive for their appointments, verify their personal and insurance information, and ensure that all necessary forms are completed accurately from the patient kiosk.
2. Scheduling appointments: You would assist patients in scheduling their diagnostic imaging tests, coordinating available time slots, and ensuring that proper preparations are communicated to the patients.
3. Answering inquiries: Patients and visitors may have questions about the diagnostic imaging procedures, preparation instructions, or general inquiries. You would provide accurate information and address their concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
4. Maintaining patient records: As a receptionist, you would enter patient data into the computer system, update and maintain electronic or paper-based medical records, and ensure that all information is kept confidential and secure.
5. Coordinating with healthcare providers: You would communicate with referring physicians and other healthcare providers to obtain necessary paperwork, referral authorizations, or specific instructions related to patients' diagnostic imaging needs.
6. Insurance verification and billing: You would verify patients' insurance and ensure that billing information is accurately collected and documented.
7. Managing the reception area: You would ensure that the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming to patients and visitors. This may include managing patient flow, coordinating with other staff members to maintain efficient operations, and directing patients to the appropriate areas within the department.
8. Adhering to safety guidelines: As a receptionist in diagnostic imaging, you would follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being and privacy of patients. This may involve managing patient confidentiality, ensuring proper sanitation protocols, and complying with radiation safety measures.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a medical receptionist in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, proficiency with computer systems and EHR software, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge: Understanding of medical terminology, health record management, customer service principles, and HIPAA regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Environment: Office setting within a healthcare facility.
- Hours: Full-time position with standard office hours. Occasional overtime may be required.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
