You will work alongside senior engineers to help evaluate software quality and performance while supporting the processes used to validate Torc's autonomous driving system.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nSupport release readiness activities through analysis of software performance, testing results, and system‑level metrics.\n\nDevelop, maintain, and improve Python‑based tools, scripts, dashboards, and workflows used to evaluate software quality and release health.\n\nAnalyze test results from simulation, hardware‑in‑the‑loop, closed‑course, and on‑road testing environments.\n\nInvestigate system‑level issues and support root cause analysis efforts in collaboration with software, systems, validation, and autonomy engineering teams.\n\nWork with large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement across the autonomy stack.\n\nHelp define, implement, and maintain metrics that provide visibility into software quality, system performance, and release readiness.\n\nCollaborate with engineers across Perception, Behaviors, Platform, Validation, and Systems Engineering teams to understand system behavior and support technical investigations.\n\nParticipate in requirements reviews, design discussions, and validation planning activities.\n\nContribute to the development and improvement of release processes, triage workflows, and engineering tools.\n\nDocument findings, communicate investigation results, and provide actionable feedback to development teams.\n\nSupport defect tracking and issue management activities throughout the software development lifecycle.\n\nWhat You’ll Need to Succeed\n\nBachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.\n\nExperience working with complex software, robotics, autonomous systems, automotive systems, or distributed technical environments.\n\nStrong Python programming skills for scripting, automation, data analysis, or tooling development.\n\nExperience working with data analysis, metrics, dashboards, or system performance evaluation.\n\nFamiliarity with software development workflows, defect management, testing methodologies, and validation activities.\n\nAbility to investigate technical issues, analyze data, and communicate findings effectively.\n\nExperience collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines.\n\nStrong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.\n\nAbility to independently execute technical tasks and investigations while seeking guidance on larger or more ambiguous problems.\n\nBonus Points\n\nExperience with autonomous vehicles, ADAS, robotics, or safety‑critical systems.\n\nExperience working with cloud‑based data platforms, databases, or large‑scale datasets.\n\nExperience with simulation environments, SIL/HIL testing, or validation workflows.\n\nFamiliarity with software quality metrics, release processes, or engineering KPIs.\n\nExperience building internal engineering tools or automation solutions.\n\nExposure to systems engineering principles, requirements management, or verification and validation activities.\n\nWork Location: For this position, we are open to hiring in Ann Arbor, MI (U.S.) office work locations in a hybrid capacity.
