{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"8e81ffc10cd2b29fca8dfcea","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/8e81ffc10cd2b29fca8dfcea","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/8e81ffc10cd2b29fca8dfcea","title":"NAS Systems Engineer","description":"A3 Technology, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer/Integrator in Washington, DC to assist with conducting comprehensive system-wide reviews and analyses of all aspects of the National Airspace System (NAS) development life cycle, particularly the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system, including ATC automation, communications, and navigation and surveillance elements of the NAS.\n\nEnterprise-level engineering support to the Transformative Technology Office’s mission of planning, implementing, and reporting on the newest concepts and technologies to achieve the FAA's new long-term vision for the National Airspace System (NAS).\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nProvide expertise in the transition of legacy systems to modernized systems.\nConduct evaluations of the baselined (As-Is) engineering, acquisition (program functionalities), and infrastructure and identify engineering and acquisition gaps, risks, and opportunities associated with ICN efforts.\nPerform engineering assessments related to NAS infrastructure systems (communications, surveillance, automation, and navigation) and mechanisms and submit technical papers and briefs to support informed decisions on new activities and initiatives to mature concepts and modernize the NAS.\nIdentify key dependencies, gaps, and integration challenges, as well as providing recommendations to minimize programmatic impacts\n\nSkills Required:\n\nBachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET accredited college or university and 6-10 years of relevant experience or master’s degree in a related field and 3-7 years of relevant experience.\nCandidates must have experience with interpreting Enterprise Architecture models and frameworks.\nUse of systems engineering concepts to analyze various aspects of systems, evolution of the systems (As-Is) to future configuration states (To-Be); and analyzing changes in the system overtime and identify gaps and shortfalls in operational capabilities and inform strategic evolution of the system.\nFamiliarity with enterprise level requirements or enterprise architecture development.\nMicrosoft Office suite expertise.\n\nSkills Preferred:\n\nUnderstanding and familiarity with FAA Services and National Airspace System requirements.\nExperience with FAA NextGen initiatives and/or innovative aviation technologies, particularly information-centric technologies.\nExperience with PowerPlatform, PowerBI and similar tools.\n\nAdditionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required. It is imperative that candidates be either a US citizen or a current green card holder with the last 3 consecutive years as a resident of the US.\n\nThe salary range for positions is $50,000 to $175,000. This range is provided as a general guideline and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of compensation. Actual salary offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
