POSITION TITLE:School Nutrition Assistant Manager-MMSRESPONSIBLE TO:School Nutrition ManagerJOB CLASSIFICATION:Classified Position: 188-day Employee-At-WillFLSA Status: Non-ExemptScheduled work hours: 7 per dayESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Assuming any or all School Nutrition operations responsibilities as directed by the School Nutrition ManagerQUALIFICATIONS:Education:High school diploma or equivalentSpecialized education and training in Food Service production and management are preferred ServSafe Safety and Sanitation CertifiedCompletion of Orientation for Nutrition Employees (ONE - State Mandated class) preferredKnowledge of simple arithmetic Experience:One year in non-managerial capacity of School Nutrition Program preferredVaried experience in School Nutrition Program with progressively responsible duties successfully accomplished. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrates prompt and regular attendanceResponsible for assisting the manager in successfully carrying out the regulations of the state and federal School Nutrition Program relating to food preparation, sanitation, serving practices, and participationWorks under the guidance and direction of the manager to become thoroughly acquainted with all phases of the operation and record keeping of the School Nutrition Program. Is prepared to carry out management responsibilities in manager's absenceResponsible to the manager for assigned duties relating to menu planning, purchasing, portion control, serving procedures, work simplification, record keeping and cost controlAssists the manager in ordering and receiving procedures and assists with inventory controlAssumes responsibility under the manager's direction for preparation and implementation of production and cleaning schedulesPerforms under the manager's direction on-the-job training for all employees in use of equipment, standardized recipes, sanitation, storage procedures, and food handlingIf applicable, assists in preparation and delivery of foods to satellite feeding sitesAssists in maintenance of records of food and supplies when received and usedCoordinates the storage and care of food and supplies.Assists in planning work schedules, completing production records, taking inventories and obtaining substitute workersImplements local school's policy in handling all of the collection procedures including those such as non-revenue meals, second meals, and extra food salesAssist in preparation of daily end of day procedures and bank deposits in cooperation with the cashier.
