This role ensures scalable data structures, high-performance query execution, and reliable database operations across multi-terabyte systems. The Database Engineer partners with engineering, data, and analytics teams to modernize database architecture and support downstream reporting and data platforms.\n\nTitle: Database Engineer\nLocation: Remote – United States\nSchedule: Full-time, First Shift, Monday – Friday\nDepartment: Technology/Engineering\nCompensation: $95,000 to $120,000\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nDesign and evolve MySQL schemas to support scalable, multi-tenant architectures\nDefine and enforce database design standards including indexing, partitioning, and performance optimization\nOptimize complex SQL queries and resolve systemic database performance issues\nImplement and automate database change management, schema deployments, and migrations\nMaintain replication, failover, and disaster recovery processes to ensure high availability\nMonitor performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure data integrity\nSupport cross-platform environments including MSSQL and Snowflake integrations\nCollaborate with engineering and BI teams to align data structures with reporting and analytics needs\nWork within Jira workflows and use GitHub for version control and documentation\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)\nMinimum 5 years of experience working with relational databases\nStrong experience with MySQL design, performance tuning, and optimization\nExperience supporting large-scale or multi-terabyte database environments\nStrong SQL skills with a focus on query performance and optimization\nExperience with replication, high availability, and disaster recovery\nExperience with automation and Git-based workflows\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nExperience with database migration and change management tools (e.g., Flyway, Liquibase, Grate)\nFamiliarity with Snowflake and MSSQL environments\nExperience designing multi-tenant database architectures\nScripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar)\nExperience in healthcare or revenue cycle management\nExperience supporting high-volume production systems\n\nEmployment eligibility:\n\nCandidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire\nThe company does not provide employment visa sponsorship for this position\nAs a condition of employment, a pre-employment background check will be conducted\nAt this time, we are unable to consider candidates residing in the state of New York for this position\n\nWhat We Offer:\n\nComprehensive paid training\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\nHSA and FSA available\n401(k) with company match\nPaid Wellness Time and Holidays\nEmployer paid life insurance and long-term disability\nInternal growth opportunities\n\nMeduit is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
