Based in El Segundo, CA.\n\nJob Details\n\nJob Skills : Engineering and Project Management\n\nType : Contract\n\nJob ID : 169110\n\nSalary : Negotiable\n\nResponsibilities\n\nConduct site surveys or review existing reports to assess rack space, cable routes, power needs (UPS/Backup), and thermal loading for new equipment\n\nProvide engineering support including design development, SIP/IRD preparation, design updates, technical reviews, and coordination activities\n\nDesign installation layouts for NEXCOM receivers, transmitters, APC gateway units, equipment racks, and related communication equipment\n\nDesign copper, coax, and fiber optic cabling installations, including power, grounding, labeling, and bonding\n\nSupport antenna and communications infrastructure work as identified and authorized\n\nSupport equipment checkout, installation verification, Joint Acceptance Inspection (JAI), exception clearing, and turnover activities\n\nSupport de-installation, removal, and disposition of legacy equipment per FAA direction\n\nUpdate documentation, redline drawings, track assets, and complete closeout activities as required\n\nDevelop engineering packages based on FAA orders, standards, and technical instructions for field installation of radar, automation, communication, and navigational equipment\n\nDevelop risk management, transition, and cutover plans\n\nProvide technical oversight for projects from start to finish\n\nCollaborate with FAA engineers on technical issues, equipment requirements, costs, material lists, designs, schedules, and reports\n\nThis position is based in El Segundo, CA with 5 days in office. Occasional travel or night/weekend work up to 20% is anticipated. Travel will be on the west coast (could include Hawaii).\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field\n\n5+ years of experience in electronics, communications, or infrastructure engineering\n\nKnowledge of electronic engineering principles and concepts\n\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents\n\nFamiliarity with applicable engineering codes and standards\n\nAbility to travel nationwide and work on active construction sites in varying conditions\n\nU.S. Citizenship required\n\nMust pass FAA background checks\n\nPreferred Skills\n\nExperience with FAA National Airspace Systems or aviation communication systems\n\nExperience with NEXCOM equipment, APC gateway units, or related FAA infrastructure\n\nExperience designing and installing copper, coax, and fiber optic cabling\n\nExperience with Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and equipment turnover\n\nExperience developing risk management, transition, and cutover plans\n\nFederal, aviation, transportation, or large infrastructure project experience\n\nEngineer in Training (EIT/FE) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification\n\nExperience with Bluebeam or similar markup software\n\nStrong communication and coordination skills\n\nStrong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently\n\nEmployment Type\n6‑month Contract, potential to move to Direct hire\n\nEqual Opportunity Employer Statement\nTRS Staffing Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer that recognizes the value of a diverse workforce.
