Technician (Synthesis)Shift is Monday - Friday, hours are 6:30am - 3:00pm. Top three qualities: successful fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing background. This is more of a manufacturing/factory job than traditional science-based lab jobs. Aligns with IDT core values - mutually trusting, humble, collaborative, and looking to continuously improve. Preferably understands scientific principles (preferred but not required).The Technician (Synthesis) synthesizes custom oligonucleotides according to the customer's order. This generally includes synthesis, cleavage, deprotection, QC sampling, and packaging of the products being made.Job Specific Essential Functions:Synthesizes oligos on various synthesizer platformsCleaves and deprotects oligos utilizing appropriate methodsQuantifies and samples oligos for quality control testsAdheres to safety regulations, lab SOPs, and contamination controlsUses lab equipment including limited maintenance and troubleshooting activitiesUses custom software packages to complete tasks and create final productHandles expensive oligos and reagentsDemonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core ValuesPerforms other duties as assignedPosition Specific Essential Functions:Prepares oligos for final shipment to customer or for further processing in other departmentsUses aids and SOPs to make production path decisionsAdditional essential functions may differ by department/groupEducation:High School Diploma or GEDAssociate's (2 year) degree or Bachelor's (4 year) degree preferred.
