Electrical Design Engineer (Senior/Principal)
Vysus Group is seeking experienced Senior and Principal Electrical Design Engineers to support major nuclear, fuel-cycle, advanced reactor, and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects in the United States.These positions support highly regulated and safety-critical nuclear projects involving electrical power systems, electrical design engineering, multidisciplinary EPC execution, and advanced engineering analysis and design activities.Locations: Houston, Texas | Greenville, South CarolinaThe Senior and Principal Electrical Design Engineers provide technical leadership, engineering expertise, and independent technical solutions for complex nuclear and industrial projects. Acting as discipline representatives, they ensure technical quality, compliance, and successful project execution across all phases.Responsibilities include electrical system design activities, engineering analyses and calculations, design reviews, procurement and construction support, multidisciplinary coordination, and providing technical guidance to engineers and designers. Principal Engineers are additionally expected to lead complex projects, mentor teams, and provide overall engineering oversight and direction.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review electrical design drawings, specifications, calculations, and engineering documentsDevelop and modify single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, raceway, lighting, and grounding designsPerform electrical system studies including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, motor starting, harmonics, and grounding analysesPerform electrical calculations including voltage drop, cable sizing, cable de-rating, and cable pulling tension calculationsPrepare motor schematics, interconnection diagrams, power plans, and grounding layoutsSupport hazardous area classifications and electrical design documentationCoordinate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teamsSupport procurement, construction, commissioning, and project execution activitiesSupport project estimates, schedules, staffing forecasts, and progress reporting activitiesBachelor of Science degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred. Senior Engineer - Significant relevant engineering experience with strong technical expertise in the applicable discipline.
