Under limited supervision, this Project Engineer will perform systems engineering and technical management of development projects, including final design, prototype fabrication and flight test of new GA-ASI, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). In addition, this Systems Engineer may support technical development of competitive proposals for existing and new DoD customers. As a supervisor, this engineer will lead the team of engineers supporting ground-based UAS projects including project oversight and mentoring of personnel.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nSupports operation of engineering systems and documents any problems.\nDevises new approaches to resolve unusual or complex engineering problems.\nTroubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.\nUnderstands digital models and can contribute to development of behavioral and/or functional capabilities at the component, subsystem, and system level.\nProvides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.\nMay represent the organization as the prime technical contact on small contracts or single component projects.\nProvides direction to design or technical staff and will lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.\nResponsible for the execution and implementation of the engineering process: design, development, integration, test and performance verification.\nEvaluates the integration of the engineering solution within the overall engineering environment; and ensures that appropriate documentation, testing, maintenance, and engineering updates are completed.\nManages program schedule and resource needs for a cross-functional engineering team.\nLeads SRR, PDR, CDR and Test and Operation Readiness reviews.\nMaintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.\nProvides supporting engineers and performs staff management for project engineers supporting multiple strategic thrusts within Advanced Programs\nDevelops and executes technology maturation plans for technologies key to platform development and enhancement projects\nSupports program capture and business development activities including attendance of industry days, generating of white papers, proposal technical volumes and basis of estimates and BOMs for proposal cost volumes\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nResponsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.\nExpected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.\n\nWe recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.\n\nJob Qualifications\nTypically requires a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or PhD in Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive Engineering experience as follows; fourteen or more years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, twelve or more years of experience with a Master's degree, or ten or more years with a PhD.
