The successful Senior Software Engineer must stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, demonstrating continuous learning and innovation. Other duties may be assigned.\nDemonstrate competence of engineering concepts and computer science fundamentals, combining them with product understanding to design, document and implement clean and robust solutions for business problems.\nDeliver on engineering commitments while demonstrating a bias for action and flexibility to evolving product needs.\nCollaborate with other engineering teams as well as program and product managers to define and implement technical solutions.\nWork closely with your peers, mentor junior developers and help the team achieve its goals.\nMaintain a high bar for code quality, testing and automation while finding opportunities to continuously improve them.\nParticipate in design and code reviews, ensuring the team ships high quality, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code.\nMay specialize in one or more areas of development, including full-stack, user interface, databases, or services.\n\nEducational and Skills Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience\n4+ years of related work experience\nExperienced with N-tiered applications utilizing modern web frameworks (Azure, C#/ .NET, VueJS, Angular, React)\nExperience with test automation, instrumentation, debugging\nExperience contributing to technical design of a feature or function\nExcellent leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills\nFamiliarity with Agile Development focused mainly as an individual contributor\nSound problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills\nBe able to juggle multiple tasks and fulfill ad-hoc requests based on priority\nBe an individual contributor who is also comfortable working in a team\nForward thinking, curious, and creative\nAble to lead people and projects\nAble to collect and analyze complex information, problem solve, and make decisions\nStrong skills in inspiring the win-win-win\nAbility to work independently\n\nTravel Requirements:\nTravel is rarely required for this position (0-1 trips per year).\nAny travel will be entirely domestic.\n\nType/Nature of Contacts:\nInternal: Key job contacts are primarily with clerical and technical personnel outside of the job’s immediate work unit/department.\nExternal: There is almost no contact outside of Virtuoso staff.
