This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, mentoring, and direct client engagement.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nArchitect and develop scalable, high-performance analytics and data processing systems\nDesign and optimize complex database queries and data pipelines\nPerform data migration, preparation, modeling, and indexing for analytics platforms\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated data solutions\nMentor junior developers and promote development best practices\nEngage directly with customers to gather requirements and present technical solutions\nContribute to written deliverables and technical documentation\n\nRequired For This Opportunity\nU.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DHS 6C Public Trust clearance\nBachelor’s degree (Computer Science preferred, or equivalent experience)\n5+ years of software development experience, including at least 1 year focused on analytics\nStrong experience with:\nPython (including data science libraries)\nSQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL and/or Oracle)\nData warehouses and data lakes\nApache Spark and Databricks\nElasticsearch\nAbility to work onsite in Crystal City, VA 1–2 days per week\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nNice to Have Skills\nExperience mentoring or leading technical teams\nPrior experience supporting government or mission-critical environments\nAdvanced analytics, data modeling, or large-scale data processing experience\n\nAt AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member.\n\nThe targeted base salary range for this role is $100,000-$150,000 per year.
