Full-Time Equine Veterinary Technician

PHD Veterinary Services is seeking a full-time Equine Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. This is a physically active, hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about equine health and performance. Our ambulatory practice means hours can vary—so flexibility and a strong work ethic are essential. Key Responsibilities: Handle and restrain equine patients during exams and procedures. Support veterinarians during lameness evaluations, dentistry, emergency calls, diagnostics, and general field services. Drive and maneuver a truck and trailer. Jog horses for soundness evaluations. Work outdoors in all weather conditions. Maintain and restock mobile veterinary equipment and supplies. Prepare lab samples (blood, urine, feces, tissues) for processing and shipment. Sanitize and organize workspaces and equipment. Perform other support tasks as needed. Qualifications: Education & Certification: Equine-specific veterinary experience highly desirable. Skills & Requirements: Demonstrated experience working with horses in a veterinary or performance setting. Ability to lift 100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. Comfortable jogging and handling horses for evaluations. Experience driving a truck and trailer. Proficiency with veterinary equipment and procedures. Must be flexible with work hours, including early mornings and evenings. Reliable, organized, and team-oriented with excellent communication skills. Valid driver’s license required.
