Production Manager - Specialty Chemicals
About the CompanyOur client, one of the largest independent U.S. manufacturers and suppliers of chemicals and related services has an immediate need for an experienced chemical/plastics/food Production Manager to provide manufacturing supervision at their soon be expanding South Carolina (near greater Greenville/Spartanburg) based production facility.About the RoleReporting to the Plant Manager, the successful candidate will lead a team of production operators and warehouse personnel. This is a full time, on site role working Mon - Friday, first shift. No weekends required. Interested candidates must be bilingual, English/Spanish.ResponsibilitiesSupervise day-to-day specialty chemical production activities with a focus on safety, environmental compliance and Good Manufacturing Practices.Ensure adherence to quality requirements for all products.Provide leadership and training for production operators, perform employee evaluations and provide coaching as required.Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and work to achieve improvement targets.Create and maintain procedures, batch records, job aids and training documents.Review production schedules and ensure customer requirements are satisfied.Collaborate with plant and corporate management to achieve safety, quality, efficiency and cost objectives for the plant.Complete actions items from customer complaints, incidents and enact MOCs as per required timing.Serve on emergency response team. QualificationsBachelor's degree in science or business related discipline.Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.At least five years of experience supervising production personnel in a chemical, food or plastics manufacturing facility.Prior working knowledge of ERP systems.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.Strong organizational and time management skills.Strong oral and written communication skills.Prior experience operating forklifts is preferred.
