The position offers the opportunity to gain experience on a variety of infrastructure projects, including the design of bridges and other transportation structures, such as walls and sign structures that are critical to our nations transportation network and vital to local communities. \r\n Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. Interns work with cutting-edge technology, learn industry best practices, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a globally recognized firm. The program fosters both technical and professional skill development while providing networking opportunities that can enhance future career prospects. Additionally, AECOMs dedication to innovation and sustainability enables interns to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment. \r\n This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2027. \r\n Applying technical training to perform basic calculations, work well in a team setting and be willing to work diligently to learn new skills. \r\n Assisting with tasks related to the design, analysis, rehabilitation, and inspection of highway bridges and ancillary transportation structures. \r\n Assisting with preliminary to final design calculations and plan development, reviewing of field information, possible field inspection of existing facilities. \r\n Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or in another related field and must have completed at least 2 years of study. Candidates who have graduated with a Bachelors degree and plan to continue with the Masters degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelors degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship. \r\n Some basic coursework in steel and concrete design. \r\n Proficiency in MS Office Suite. \r\n Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software. \r\n Relocation assistance is not available for this position. \r\n This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Pittsburgh, PA or Morgantown, WV.
