{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"8d8e53a55c6688dbee0fc2ce","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/8d8e53a55c6688dbee0fc2ce","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/8d8e53a55c6688dbee0fc2ce","title":"Design Lead- Structural Engineer","description":"The design lead oversees the design team in successfully planning, executing, and delivering primarily large-scale projects.\nResponsibilities include:\nAct as the primary design engineer of record and project lead for projects congruent with experience.\nProvide regularly scheduled project reviews to review design progress, schedule, outstanding issues, etc. to\nprovide guidance and support to design staff.\nSign and seal plan sets as appropriate for level of involvement in the project.\nCreate or direct schematic design layouts and establish initial design direction.\nPlan out project tasks, priorities, timelines, and delegate tasks to project engineers and designers.\nPerform QA/QC of delegated tasks.\nProvide technical support and develop expertise of project engineers as necessary.\nCommunicate and coordinate with and between clients and design teams.\nProvide design team assistance with complex RFIs and CA issues.\nProvide guidance and/or generate Program of Requirements and Master Plans.\nHelp develop additional augmentation procedures and integration.\nGenerate proposals as necessary.\nMeet deadlines.\nMentor staff on engineering design and project delivery.\nOther duties as assigned and necessary.\n\nEducation/ Experience:\nRequired: Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering\nPreferred: Master's degree in Structural Engineering\n5-10 years of engineering experience with project management experience\nExperience in the use of various structural design codes and specifications including but not limited to IBC, IRC, ASCE 7, ACI, PCI, AISC, NDS, and TMS\nExperience in design and detailing of various construction materials, including steel, cold formed metal framing, conventional and post-tensioned concrete, concrete masonry, and conventional and engineered wood\nExperience in the design and analysis of building structures\nExperience in the development of comprehensive construction documents\nSkills and special requirements/licensing:\nRegistered P.E. in the state of Texas\nBluebeam, Autodesk REVIT, RISA, or RAM Structural System experience is a plus.\nBeing solutions-minded and self-initiating\nGessner Engineering does not sponsor employment visas (e.g., H-1B, OPT, CPT, TN, or similar) at this time.\nGessner Engineering is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.
