Provide leadership for all quality assurance and quality control activities associated with the repair, refurbishment, assembly, inspection, testing, and documentation of gas turbines, generators, auxiliary skids, and components manufactured by multiple internal and external suppliers. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality objectives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.\r\nPrimary Duties\r\nDevelop, implement, and maintain the facility's Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality standards.\r\nLead all Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities throughout manufacturing, refurbishment, repair, assembly, inspection, testing, and testing processes.\r\nEstablish quality policies, procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and process controls to ensure consistent product quality.\r\nManage quality requirements for the refurbishment of\r\nIndustrial gas turbines\r\nSteam turbines (as applicable)\r\nElectric generators\r\nAuxiliary skids and balance-of-plant equipment\r\nMechanical and electrical components\r\nVendor-manufactured fabrications and machined components\r\nOversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and contractual requirements.\r\nLead supplier quality initiatives including qualification, audits, performance monitoring, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.\r\nReview manufacturing and repair documentation, inspection reports, material certifications, non-destructive examination (NDE) reports, and final quality records.\r\nEnsure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory codes.\r\nManage internal and external quality audits, customer audits, and third-party certification audits.\r\nLead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Five Why, Fishbone, or similar techniques.\r\nImplement and monitor Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) programs.\r\nAnalyze quality metrics, identify trends, and develop improvement initiatives that reduce defects, rework, and warranty costs.\r\nPartner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Operations to resolve technical quality issues.\r\nEnsure calibration and control of inspection, testing, and measuring equipment.\r\nManage Material Review Board (MRB) activities and disposition of nonconforming materials.\r\nDevelop quality objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting performance to executive leadership.\r\nLead and mentor quality engineers, inspectors, technicians, and document control personnel.\r\nPromote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.\r\nWorking Relationships\r\nReports to VP, PM/SC/IT and collaborates with Engineered Performance peers and management.\r\nCompensation\r\nThe initial compensation is $123,500 to $142,050 based on experience and qualifications.\r\nJob Qualifications\r\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, quality management or a related field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent.\r\nYears of Experience\r\nEight years of progressive quality management experience within manufacturing, heavy industrial equipment, rotating equipment, power generation, aerospace, or related industries.\r\nFive years in a leadership or management role.\r\nExperience developing, implementing, and managing Quality Management Systems in an ISO 9001 or comparable quality environment.\r\nExperience supporting manufacturing, repair, or refurbishment of large industrial equipment.\r\nExperience leading internal, customer, and certification audits.\r\nPreferred Experience\r\nExperience in gas turbine, communication, and organizational skills.\r\nPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions\r\nThis position is based within a heavy industrial manufacturing facility and requires daily presence on the production floor. The role involves frequent interaction with production personnel, engineering, quality, planning, project management, customers, and suppliers. Occasional travel to customer sites, vendor facilities, or field service locations to support projects.\r\nNormal working hours are 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday. Extended hours may be required based on specific requirements. Work at facilities can occur around industrial hazards, in areas of high noise levels, and around new construction. Physical mobility to transverse stairways, ladders, grating, and uneven terrain are essential.
