The role of a data manager is focused on implementing enterprise and domain specific data management policies and maintaining the quality of the data within their scope of responsibility. The following duties will be performed:Recommend and nominate data initiatives and data requirements that can support the mission objectivesIdentify and define analytics efforts to support mission objectivesDetermine (search and identify) data sources providing data that satisfy the data needs and requirements of missions and initiativesNominate the data and sources for Data Steward approvalEnsure data and sources are integrated into the data architecture, and the data architecture is represented in appropriate Enterprise Architecture documentationDefine/propose acquisition policies and processesAcquire data via APIsEnsure collection policies, processes, and standards are metImplement transformation or curation processesImplement user authorizations, access controls, and update permissionsSelect the tools, technology, and platforms for data storageDirect and manage data interoperability and integrationUpdate, maintain, and refresh data, as needed (e.g., DBA)Assess, cleanse, and curate dataRespond to consumer feedback, particularly on data quality and data access issuesDirect and record the different uses (e.g., data analytics initiatives, applications) and users of the dataSelect the tools and technology required to apply/use the dataMonitor and log data provided to consumersSolicit, receive, and respond to data consumer feedbackDevelop, manage, operate, and maintain API/services with appropriate security /access controls (e.g., ICAM)Provide data to consumer in standard format (e.g., NIEM) as feasible and appropriateEnsure exchanged data is secureEvaluate the conditions for data archival and disposal and archive or dispose of data if conditions are metRequirements:Minimum of 1-year experience is requiredBachelor's degree in a STEM field or Business AdministrationA Certified Data Management Professional certification is preferredExperience providing services similar in required tasks, scope, and complexityAt least a Secret Clearance is required, while Top Secret clearance eligible for SCI is preferredBenefits:Healthcare, Vision, and Dental Insurance20 Days of Paid Leave401K MatchingTraining/Certification ReimbursementBereavement PayShort term/long term disabilityPaid Parental/Maternity LeaveWellness LeaveLife InsurancePaid Military LeaveSTEMBoard is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
