This position will be responsible for the Programming of our Building Automation products commissioning, and troubleshooting, while providing top-tier customer service for all internal and external customers. While the emphasis is on the Siemens product you will be working with Niagara, Open+ and many others as well. In order to perform your tasks, you will utilize your knowledge of HVAC Systems, control devices, computer operations, electronics, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, direct digital controls, airflow, hydronic systems, IT networking, analytics and building controls technologies. This position will have an emphasis on Customer Service and creating on going relationships with existing customers in the market.\n\nEssential Functions\n\nServe as a representative of VCSS, primarily in person or on the telephone, displaying courtesy, tact, professionalism and discretion in all interactions with fellow employees and the company’s clientele.\n\nWork as a team with our Operations, Service and Engineering Teams to fulfill customer needs with courtesy and in a timely manner.\n\nTimely response to all customer requests, internal/external.\n\nIntermediate to Expert Level HVAC Control systems knowledge, troubleshooting, installation, start-up, and commissioning as it is related to mechanical, electrical, and low voltage controls components.\n\nAbility to program all controls for project field work with no supervision/assistance, at a high level of quality, with budgeted time in mind.\n\nMultitasking/Balancing the responsibility of several ongoing projects simultaneously.\n\nMentoring other Technicians in all facets of Project Execution and Service support.\n\nAbility to troubleshoot and/or write Controls programming as needed to complete project start-up.\n\nAbility to manage/coordinate field execution of all Siemens programming.\n\nLeading owner training classes as well as personally initiated training to ensure the highest level of knowledge.\n\nFollowing all safety standards and attends/completes required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety always.\n\nKeeping management and project management informed of job progress and any foreseen or possible issues that might arise.\n\nFollowing and managing processes and procedures in a timely manner, without the need to be reminded; Example: Procore, Email, Teams, Trello, Bidtracer, labor logs and personal expense submission.\n\nCompetency and Experience\n\nMinimum of five (5) years’ experience in the construction industry.\n\nMaintain a satisfactory driving record which, per VCSS’s vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive a company vehicle.\n\nAbility to use Windows applications primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook.\n\nWorking knowledge of refrigeration machinery, tools and their application.\n\nAbility to read, analyze and interpret written instructions and construction project documents as they apply to aforementioned duties and responsibilities.\n\nAbility to apply basic mathematical concepts, such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.\n\nAbility to define problems, gather data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.\n\nAbility to make judgments after analysis of available information and respond with a timely decision.\n\nAbility to plan work and sequence priorities.\n\nAbility to speak articulately one-on-one or to small groups.\n\nAbility to compose articulate and grammatically correct written communication.\n\nAbility to perform under difficult conditions, such as simultaneous deadlines.\n\nAbility to handle conflict.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nNone\n\nEducation and Certification\n\nBachelor’s degree in HVAC or similar field or combination of education and experience.\n\nOther technical experience such as military, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management.\n\nMust have or be willing to obtain OSHA safety training, along with managing a safe workforce and safety policies.\n\nWork Environment\n\nThis position may require working in extremely hot or cold weather conditions. Furthermore, there may be noisy or potentially hazardous conditions that require the use of PPE.\n\nThere will be significant and daily local travel to customer sites to perform the duties of this position. In addition occasional overnight travel may be required for distant customer sites.
