Assisting in document creation/review and estimate/proposal creation of larger projects.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nIdentify, mark, takeoff and estimate products from contract/bid documents, including all revisions/addendums. Some examples would be taxes, liquidated damages, wage requirements, schedules, bonds, project labor agreements, etc.\nMaintain accuracy of takeoffs, estimates, and quotations of products through review of project specifications, material and labor items as well as the complete estimating workbook.\nForward requests for information (RFI's) as required to sales rep for items that are not clear but could affect overall cost.\nInteract with supervisors and other departments (Engineering, Operations) on unusual products to ensure all cost factors have been accounted for and that customer schedules can be met. This can be by one on one or scheduled group meetings.\nContact suppliers to obtain pricing for materials and review quotations for accuracy.\nEnter cost and selling totals in database for tracking.\nWhere pre-determined standards are not available, responsible to provide reasonable estimate.\nInforms immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or database.\nDrafts bid documents, bonds, additional bid requirements and or proposals for review.\nMaintains communication with sales rep and or customer with status of proposals.\nDevelops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, maintains standardized cut sheet database, etc.\nReview and update resource information (standard drawings/specifications, checklists and notes) to ensure items that impact cost are up to date.\nMaintain adequate lead time on takeoff/estimate preparation.\nSort and file plans and specifications for long term storage\nAnticipated travel for educational purposes and pre-bid meetings – 25%\nPosition Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred.\n1+ years in construction or fabrication.\n1+ years in cost estimating preferred.\nProficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software, excel, Word, Bluebeam, RS Means, Microsoft Project\nAbility to read/understand engineered documents, CSI codes & ASI documents.\nEducation\nRequired\nBachelor or better in Construction Management Services or related field\nBachelor or better in Engineering or related field\nBehaviors\nPreferred\nEnthusiastic: Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interest\nTeam Player: Works well as a member of a group\nDetail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
