Senior Project Manager (Manhattan)
Position Title: Project Manager Location: Boston, MA or various U.S. project locations Reports To: Project Executive or Area Manager Position Overview The Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing assigned construction projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures adherence to safety standards, contractual obligations, design requirements, budget limitations, and project timelines. The position involves coordinating planning, organizing resources, and staffing critical roles in collaboration with senior leadership. The Project Manager reports directly to the Project Executive or Area Manager. Core Responsibilities Project Leadership & Delivery Direct all phases of project execution, from preconstruction planning to final closeout. Coordinate with executive and operations teams to assign and manage key field personnel. Define project goals, procedures, and performance expectations in alignment with company policies. Oversee daily construction operations to ensure alignment with project scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. Proactively identify potential risks and implement solutions to address issues related to cost, schedule, or safety. Contracts, Procurement & Stakeholder Relations Support contract negotiations and oversee the selection and management of subcontractors and vendors. Maintain strong communication with clients, consultants, partners, and other stakeholders to support efficient project progress. Act as the company representative in meetings, labor discussions, and other key engagements. Manage documentation such as change orders, extra work requests, back charges, and other contractual submissions. Planning, Scheduling & Financial Oversight Lead preconstruction planning efforts, including sequencing, site logistics, temporary works, and schedule development. Monitor project financials, including budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and cash flow. Supervise scheduling, engineering coordination, material management, and administrative functions. Track productivity, quantities, and workmanship to ensure project performance meets expectations. Safety, Quality & Compliance Ensure adherence to company EHS policies as well as all applicable regulatory requirements. Foster a strong safety-focused culture across all project activities. Oversee quality control processes and implement corrective measures when necessary. Additional Responsibilities Carry out other duties as assigned by the Project Executive or supervisor. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 5–6 years of experience managing projects in deep foundations or heavy civil construction. OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification and First Aid/CPR training required. Strong expertise in project scheduling, cost control, and team leadership across multiple disciplines. In-depth knowledge of construction methods, industry standards, and best practices for complex civil projects. Proven ability to apply effective management strategies to optimize team performance.
