Open until filled.Job SummaryThe Online Dakota Information Network (ODIN) supports a consortium of libraries serving academic, public, school, and special libraries across North Dakota.An ODIN Technical Support Specialist provides technical support to member libraries in Alma and Polaris through consultation, investigation, and resolution. Collaborates with library staff and ODIN colleagues to monitor system performance, carry out quality assurance for system upgrades, maintain database integrity, and coordinate data migrations along with other tasks. Reports issues to vendors and seeks specialized support when necessary. Creates and delivers informational sessions, provides workflow assistance, and produces training documentation.Primarily responsible for Technical Services in Alma and Polaris (Cataloging/Resource Management, Acquisitions) and E-resource access. Supports member libraries with the management, import, export, creation, and deletion of authority, bibliographic, holding, and item metadata records. Assists with the creation of import profiles, bulk changes, running jobs, and creating reports. Resolves access issues to electronic resources in Discovery and Search and conducts maintenance on the bibliographic database for both systems.Facilitates Alma Resource Management, Polaris Cataloging, and Alma/Polaris Acquisitions user groups by scheduling meetings, updating information on the ODIN website, and utilizing the corresponding listservs to keep members informed.
