We value integrity, professionalism, and transparency, and we never stop asking, \"What more can we do?\"\nPosition Summary:\nThe Controller for BCM Energy, LLC, a division of Roeslein & Associates, supports the financial and operational integrity of the company’s Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) trading desk within a broader renewable energy development platform. This role leads daily accounting operations, bridging project-level accounting, corporate finance, and commodity trade support. Responsibilities include accurate financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and margin analysis across RNG offtake, marketing, and environmental credit transactions.\nThis position requires a foundation in accounting and financial analysis, with experience or familiarity in commodity or environmental markets. The role collaborates with trading, operations, and project finance teams and requires a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nFinancial Accounting and Reporting\nMaintain accurate accounting records for RNG trading and marketing activities, including revenue recognition, cost of sales, and intercompany transactions.\nManage all accounts receivable and accounts payable activities related to BCM Energy, LLC.\nReconcile daily and monthly positions, invoices, and settlements from counterparties, pipelines, and environmental registries.\nPrepare monthly close, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.\nManage cash accounts and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.\nProduce accurate and timely monthly financial statements and analysis.\nPrepare and oversee annual budgets.\nCollaborate with corporate accounting and external auditors to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.\nAssist in developing reporting frameworks that integrate trading results with project-level financials.\nProvide information for annual consolidated financial audits and tax preparation.\nPerform ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed.\nTrade Support and Risk Management\nPartner with traders and schedulers to ensure accurate trade capture, valuation, and mark-to-market reporting.\nValidate P&L attribution and resolve discrepancies between accounting records and trading system data.\nCollaborate with risk management to track credit exposure, counterparty performance, and compliance with internal trading policies.\nSupport audit and compliance reviews related to RIN, LCFS, ISCC, or other environmental credit programs.\nProcess Improvement and Systems\nContribute to financial process design and implementation that connects project finance, trading operations, and corporate reporting.\nSupport integration of ERP and ETRM (Energy Trade Risk Management) systems.\nIdentify opportunities to automate reconciliations, invoicing, and reporting using Excel, Power BI, or other analytics tools.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.\n5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally within energy trading, project development, or environmental commodities.\nFamiliarity with financial reporting for commodity transactions and project entities.\nExperience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and/or ETRM platforms (Endur, Allegro, Molecule, Enverus) preferred.\nStrong understanding of GAAP and corporate accounting principles.\nAdvanced Excel and data analysis skills; Power BI or Tableau proficiency preferred.\nDetail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.\nAbility to operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.\nInterest in renewable energy markets, environmental credit systems, and sustainability finance.\nMust comply with Roeslein’s core values and maintain strong working relationships across teams.\n\nAt Roeslein, we invest in our team members' success and well-being.
