The ideal candidate will work effectively across a cross-functional engineering organization to support successful development, deployment, and application of methodologies for power optimization and functional verification. The candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively in complex and evolving engineering environments.\n\nTHE PERSON:\n\nAs a Program Manager, you will partner with cross-functional engineering teams to manage the development, deployment, and application of methodologies for power optimization and functional verification. You will align stakeholders around solutions needed to achieve product targets, drive deliverables, manage dependencies and risks, and meet program schedules.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nDefine, plan, and drive projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance.\nApply project management principles effectively across projects of varying size and complexity.\nManage projects and processes of significant technical importance that span multiple engineering project areas.\nIdentify and implement improvements to existing processes and methods to enhance project and team efficiency.\nCreate and maintain project management artifacts including schedules, resource plans and forecasts, risk registers, and issue logs.\nDevelop clear, data-informed views of project status and facilitate dependencies and communication across development teams.\nIdentify issues and risks throughout the project lifecycle and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute appropriate action and mitigation plans.\nCollaborate with methodology and execution teams to identify areas requiring additional attention and coordinate appropriate corrective actions and escalations.\nCollect, analyze, organize, and communicate work performance data through dashboards and recurring status reports.\n\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\n\nDemonstrated accountability for commitments, deliverables, and outcomes.\nStrong organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to build effective working relationships and contribute both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.\nAbility to identify priorities and take appropriate initiative while engaging relevant team members in planning, decision-making, and execution.\nPeople management or cross-functional leadership experience is desirable.\nAbility to communicate technical and program information effectively with engineering teams, business partners, and senior leaders.\nExperience developing and maintaining meaningful indicators for schedule, quality, risk, and program performance.\nExperience with engineering development.\nExperience with methodology development.\nExperience leading and influencing teams within cross-functional or matrixed organizations.\nTechnical program management and stakeholder or customer relationship management experience.\nExperience collaborating with Engineering, Program/Project Management, and Business Units to solve problems and mitigate risks.\nStrong working knowledge of productivity and project management tools, including Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite, and Copilot.\nExperience using approved artificial intelligence tools responsibly and appropriately to improve productivity and work quality where applicable.\n\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\n\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant education and experience.\n\nLOCATION:\n\nAustin, TX\n\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\n\n#LI-DP1\n\nQualifications:\n\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\n\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
