Job Description:Title: Software Engineer [Scala, Java or Golang]Location: Mclean, VA/ Richmond, VADuration: 12 monthsRole Overview:Client is seeking a senior EPI Technology Leader to drive a critical FS platform modernization initiative as part of the FS v1 to v2 upgrade. This role is central to enabling the FS line of business to fully adopt the standardized PFC Platform architecture already leveraged by Card and Bank, ensuring scalability, consistency, and enhanced security across the enterprise.This leader will oversee high-priority RTE (Run-the-Enterprise) technology execution through dedicated NAL teams, while core FS teams focus on delivering the v1 to v2 transformation. The role requires strong technical leadership, platform ownership mindset, and the ability to execute safely against aggressive timelines—including a soft launch later this year and full completion by the first half of next year.Key Responsibilities:Lead and govern EPI technology execution for FS platform modernization initiativesOwn delivery of high-priority RTE work through dedicated NAL teams, ensuring platform stability and operational excellencePartner with FS product, architecture, security, and platform engineering teams to enable parallel execution and risk reductionDrive adoption of the PFC target-state architecture, aligning FS with Card and Bank standardsProvide hands-on technical leadership across microservices, event-driven systems, and cloud-native architecturesEstablish observability, reliability, and performance best practices using OpenTelemetry and modern monitoring toolsEnsure secure, scalable, and compliant system design throughout the migration lifecycleAct as a senior escalation point for delivery risks, production issues, and architectural decisionsInfluence roadmap prioritization, technical strategy, and execution plans in collaboration with senior stakeholdersRequired Skills:Strong experience with Scala, Java, and Golang in large-scale distributed systemsExpertise designing and operating RESTful APIs and event-driven architecturesDeep hands-on experience with AWS, including:AWS LambdaECSDynamoDBProven success building and scaling microservices-based platformsExperience implementing Open Telemetry for tracing, metrics, and loggingStrong understanding of cloud security, resiliency, and fault-tolerant designPreferred:Experience supporting large-scale RTE (Run-the-Enterprise) workloadsPrior leadership in enterprise platform migrations or major version upgradesBackground in financial services, regulated environments, or high-availability systems
