This partnership has enabled us to continue the BILSTEIN tradition of excellence.\nYour responsibilities\nSummary: The Test Engineer supports all functions of Test Lab while being responsible for preparing for new projects, lab capability growth/improvement, and maintenance activities. This position will work closely with the Test Lab Supervisor as an internal customer and work towards ensuring that all technical and engineering topics are resolved for Test Lab operations to be successful.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nMaintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.\nOwns all Preventative Maintenance and Calibration topics for all Test Lab equipment\nOwns powered lab operations uptime KPI for the Test Lab\nWorks with Plant Operations and Test Lab Supervisor to schedule all maintenance for the Test Lab equipment\nLeads investigations and implementations of continuous improvement projects for Test Lab operations\nApproves feasibility for new test methods and procedures\nDevelops cost vs. benefit analysis for potential new equipment / fixtures / devices for the lab operations\nMaintains close relationship with equipment suppliers and external service providers for Test Lab equipment\nCarries out local purchasing processes for procurement and maintenance of new equipment\nMaintains, creates, and continuously improves work instructions for new and existing pieces of Test Lab equipment\nMaintains Test Lab Scope as a controlled document\nResponsible for collaborating with MPP Product to design optimized test fixturing for new projects and test methods\nResponsible for the creation of non-standard machine drive files\nMaintains database of test fixtures and assesses regular replacement\nInterfaces with IT to solve any network or software-based problems preventing lab uptime\nInterfaces with global counterparts to align on best practices\nSupports NVH engineer unique data acquisition for special testing\nAddresses topics of safety and ergonomics in Test Lab Operations from a technical standpoint\nPerforms all other duties and responsibilities as assigned\nYour profile\nQualifications & Experience:\nExperience and understanding of working dangers associated with stored energy of test equipment, temp chambers, and servo-hydraulic machines.\nExperience and understanding of data acquisition in lab environment including sampling rates, signal types, filters, and post processing software\nDemonstrated strong mechanical aptitude, ability to work with tools.\nUnderstanding of engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, test specifications, operation manuals, and specific materials.\nProven knowledge of machines energized with pneumatic, electrical or hydraulic pressure and ability to troubleshoot machine issues, as well as ability to think critical in situations.\nPossesses a logical method of problem solving and willingness to learn and improve skills.\nDemonstrates a strong motivation to meet and exceed customer requirements at all times.\nStrong aptitude for taking notes and documenting tasks.\nProficient with CAD software i.e. Solid Works, AutoCAD, Catia, MS Office, etc.\nAble to perform detailed work with a strong attention to detail and quality.\nDemonstrates a strong customer focus along with a great work ethic and willingness to do what needs to be done (without taking shortcuts).\nPosition is required to be able to lift up to 40 pounds, perform repetitious duties and walk or stand for long periods of time on a daily basis.\nWillingness to work in a hands-on environment, including exposure to shock oil and grease.\nHighly organized with ability to work well independently or as part of a team.\nExhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.\nWell-developed organizational and communication skills.\nDemonstrated experience and willingness with working in teams.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.\nYour benefits\nBilstein has great benefits to offer!\nA state-of-the-art OE manufacturing plant with a strong focus on safety and cleanliness.\nMultiple competitive Health, Dental & Vision Coverage options.\n401K matching program.\nPaid time off + 13 paid holidays.\nPaid volunteer hours.\nTuition reimbursement program.\nGym reimbursement.\nCompany-paid short-term disability and life insurance.\nInternal growth opportunities.\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP).\nDiscounted BILSTEIN products.\nContact\nWe only accept online applications submitted through the 'Apply Now' button on this job posting.
