Analyst - Sell-Side Mergers & Acquisitions
Are you ready to play a central role in helping business owners successfully exit and maximize the value of what they’ve built?
At Copper Run, we are seeking a full-time Sell-Side M&A Analyst to join our Cleveland office. This is a high-impact, execution-focused role supporting live sell-side engagements across a range of industries. You’ll work directly with senior bankers, gain meaningful exposure to clients and buyers, and contribute to delivering exceptional outcomes in the middle market.
This role is ideal for a driven, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a demanding environment, embraces accountability, and takes pride in producing work of the highest quality.
What You’ll Do
As a Sell-Side Analyst, you will be deeply involved in transaction execution from pitch to close:
Support senior bankers in sell-side pitches and live engagements
Build and manage detailed financial models (DCF, comps, LBO) to support valuation and buyer analysis
Develop confidential information memoranda (CIMs), pitch books, and other marketing materials
Conduct corporate, industry, and market research
Identify and qualify potential strategic and financial buyers
Perform buyer outreach by email and phone and manage communications
Organize and maintain data rooms, CRM input, and transaction materials
Perform ad hoc analyses to support live deal activity
Provide guidance and task oversight to interns
You will be expected to respond with urgency, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and contribute as a trusted member of the deal team.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or related field
1–3 years of directly applicable sell-side M&A experience
Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational discipline
Ability to manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Clear, confident communication skills — internally and externally
Intellectual curiosity and desire to continuously improve
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
This is a team-first environment. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, supports colleagues, and contributes to a culture of accountability and high performance.
