The company is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting function, support continued growth, and partner closely with executive leadership and CFO on financial strategy, reporting, and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, job cost accounting, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, monthly/annual close, and HRPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reporting packagesImprove accounting policies and procedures and implementing efficient processesServe as the internal owner and subject matter expert for the company’s ERP systemInternal owner of payroll, financial systems and HR benefit administration, ensuring scalable infrastructure to support the company’s growthOversee HR administrative functions including payroll coordination, benefits administration, and employee onboarding/offboardingLead external audit, tax, and insurance processes; serve as primary liaison with external auditors and advisorsSupport operational teams with financial insights related to project performance, margins, and riskEvaluate and improve accounting systems and processes to support scalability and efficiencyEnsure compliance with state, and local tax regulations and dataLeadership & Team DevelopmentDevelop, mentor, and supervise the accounting team of 5, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environmentEstablish clear goals, performance metrics, and professional development plans for direct reportsBuild scalable accounting processes and organizational structure to support company growthQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics requiredMinimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experienceUnderstanding of commercial construction, manufacturing, engineering, electrical, HVAC or project/cost related industry a plusProven experience developing, leading, and managing an accounting teamCPA, Masters, or past public accounting experience a plusPossess advanced Excel skills and high proficient with ERP systemsExcellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsAbility to operate both strategically and hands-on in a growing organizationThis position offers a salary range of $180,000 to $195,000 base depending on experience.Discretionary bonus.
