Solid Power is a dynamic, fast‐paced, collaborative, and innovative team environment. The preferred candidate will be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program focused on engineering, chemistry, or a related field.\nJob Duties:\nWork closely with and under the direction of scientists and engineers to run experiments at the lab and production scales.\nSupport electrode fabrication by mixing and hand casting electrode slurries.\nSupport slurry development by collecting and analyzing rheological data and making recommendations for future iterations.\nCommunicate results and roadblocks to the broader team/audience.\nAlways follow all facility and laboratory safety rules and regulations.\nQualifications/ Requirements:\nEnrolled at least in a bachelor's program in a STEM field.\nMust have experience in an academic or industrial lab environment.\nComfort with safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment is required.\nExperience in material characterization techniques (XRD, TGA, DSC, rheometry, etc.) is a plus.\nComfort with safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment is required.\nFoundation in statistical design (D.O.E.) with relevant software experience a plus.\nKnowledge of Li-ion battery cell operation, performance, and failure modes preferred.\nExperience in testing and validation of Lithium ion/Lithium battery rechargeable cells preferred.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office suite.\nExperience with Python or Minitab is a plus.\nExcellent communication skills.\nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk.\nAbility to work in gloveboxes and dry rooms.\nRequired to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR.\nHourly Compensation: $25/hour\nSchedule: 15-20 hours per week during fall semester and up to 30 hours per week during the summer.\nApplication Deadline: This role will be posted until a suitable candidate has been identified.\nExport Control Requirements:\nThis position requires access to technology, software, and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, due to export controls.
