Legal Assistant
We are looking for an organized and professional Legal Assistant to join our law firm. This individual will provide vital assistance to a team of attorneys by handling case-related tasks, preparing a variety of legal documentation, and managing case files. RequirementsProvide administrative support to lawyers in the preparation, review and filing of legal documents such as briefs, appeals, complaints, answers, etcCommunicate with clients on various aspects of case proceedingsLocate, develop, and manage all case relevant informationDraft legal documents including pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefsCoordinate with legal experts and serve as a liaison for all parties involvedSchedule and prepare materials for court appearancesAssist attorneys in case preparation by creating and maintaining organizational systems for each caseAssist attorneys with trial preparation, develop trial exhibits, and review/organize documents for trial discoveryMaintain attorney schedules and calendarsEnter billable time for applicable assignmentsMust have working knowledge of filing for both state and federal courtMust have working knowledge of court e-filing systemsQualificationsBachelor's Degree, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience4+ years of prior work experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, paralegal, or related role in litigationFamiliarity with law, legal procedures, and protocolsProficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Odyssey, Pacer and ECF Filing SystemsPrevious Lexis Nexis and iManage experience preferred but not requiredExceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitaskStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to work independently but also as part of a teamStrong understanding of client confidentiality rules In-office five days per week BenefitsHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Short Term & Long Term DisabilityTraining & DevelopmentWellness Resources
