Depending on what matters most, your work may span enterprise GTM, recruiting, operations, partnerships, fundraising, compliance, customer success, strategic initiatives, or entirely new problems that emerge as we grow. We expect you to bring structure to ambiguity, operate with minimal direction, and drive important work to completion.\n\nThis is not a glamorous “strategy” role. A meaningful part of the job is doing the hard, messy, and sometimes tedious work required to keep a fast-growing company moving. One week you may help move an important enterprise deal forward and another week, you may spend hours solving an operational problem nobody else can own.\n\nThis is a high-ownership role for someone unusually ambitious, resourceful, and fast-moving. For exceptional performers, the role can grow toward owning a function or becoming Chief of Staff.\n\nWhat you'll work on\n\nDrive high-priority projects across GTM, recruiting, operations, and company building\n\nHelp move complex enterprise opportunities from initial conversation through pilot and close\n\nResearch new markets, customers, partnerships, conferences, and distribution opportunities\n\nBuild systems and processes that make the company operate faster and more effectively\n\nHelp recruit exceptional people and keep hiring processes moving quickly\n\nPrepare high-stakes customer, partner, investor, and internal materials\n\nTake ownership of important problems that don’t yet have a natural owner\n\nIdentify and eliminate operational bottlenecks across the company\n\nWhat we're looking for\n\nExtremely high agency: You turn ambiguous goals into action, make decisions with incomplete information, and drive work forward without waiting for instructions.\n\nExceptionally reliable: You close loops. If you own something, others can depend on you fully and stop needing to think about it.\n\nFast and intellectually curious: You learn unfamiliar domains quickly, synthesize information well, and move comfortably across technical, commercial, and operational problems.\n\nTechnically literate: You’re comfortable with software, systems, data, and tooling, and use AI to amplify your output.\n\nStrong judgment: You know what excellent looks like. Whether it’s a customer email, a hiring process, a deck, an event, or an internal workflow, you can distinguish mediocre from exceptional and push the work to the right standard.\n\nAn excellent verbal and written communicator: You communicate clearly, concisely, and credibly with executives, engineers, candidates, customers, and partners.\n\nLow ego: You care more about the outcome than the nature of the work. Early-stage companies have both glamorous and unglamorous problems, and you’re willing to solve either when it matters.\n\nWe’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation and experience operating in or around software companies. You might come from engineering, product, technical operations, consulting, or an early-stage startup.\n\nRoughly 2–6 years of experience is the sweet spot, but exceptional candidates outside that range are encouraged to apply. More than any specific pedigree, we value agency, ambition, judgment, reliability, and rate of learning.\n\nBonus: Past founders, early startup employees, or operators who have thrived in fast-moving environments.\n\nLogistics\n\nLocation: This role is in-person 5 days a week based in San Francisco, California.\n\nSponsorship: Unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor new H1B employment visas at this time.\n\nBenefits\n\nWe offer the following benefits for our full-time employees:\n\nMedical, Dental, and Vision benefits for you and your family\n\nLife Insurance benefits\n\nRetirement Plan (e.g., 401K)\n\nMonthly stipend to support your wellness and commute\n\nDaily lunches/dinners and snacks in the office to fuel you\n\nGenerous PTO and sick day policy to rest and recharge\n\nAbout Hypercubic\n\nAt Hypercubic, we’re building AI systems that can understand, reason about, and rearchitect large-scale legacy applications running on mainframes and COBOL. We work at the intersection of program analysis, knowledge extraction, and agentic systems, applied to some of the most critical enterprise software in the world.\n\nWe’re a small, deeply technical team in San Francisco, backed by top investors, and working with some of the largest organizations in the world.\n\nCompensation Range: $90K - $140K","company":"Hypercubic","rawCompany":"hypercubic","city":"Millbrae","state":"CA","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-09-04T10:32:50.522Z","occupations":[{"code":"15-1252.00","title":"Software Developers","slug":"software-developers"},{"code":"15-1299.00","title":"Computer Occupations, All Other","slug":"computer-occupations-all-other"},{"code":"15-1299.08","title":"Computer Systems Engineers/Architects","slug":"computer-systems-engineers-architects"}],"industries":[{"code":"513210","title":"Software Publishers","slug":"software-publishers"},{"code":"541511","title":"Custom Computer Programming Services","slug":"custom-computer-programming-services"},{"code":"541512","title":"Computer Systems Design Services","slug":"computer-systems-design-services"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Founder's Associate","description":"About the role\n\nYou’ll work directly with the CEO as a force multiplier on the company’s highest-priority problems.\n\nThe role is intentionally broad.
