HAProxy Technologies is headquartered in Newton, MA, with multiple offices across the US and Europe.\nWhat you will do in this role\nThe Systems Engineer’s primary role will be to assist our customers and partners in getting the most out of our products and services.\nProactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve customer issues via tickets/chats/phone.\nResearch and reproduce issues, identify solutions and workarounds, as well as contribute reports to other engineering departments to strengthen our products.\nEnhance our documentation and knowledge base of solutions to simplify customer assistance.\nConduct training sessions, as well as technical and demo presentations.\nProvide feedback and assist in the development/testing/optimization of our products.\nParticipate in our on-call rotation.\nWhat you will bring to this role\nAn engineer with a service-minded attitude that is comfortable with learning new technologies, problem-solving, and collaborating with other teams.\nUniversity degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n5+ years of experience (varying experience levels).\nProficiency in Linux/Unix-based environments and scripting.\nStrong foundation in networking technologies.\nSolid understanding of web servers, reverse proxies/load balancers.\nSolid understanding of associated protocols TCP/UDP, all versions of HTTP, SSL/TLS, and DNS.\nExperience managing web servers and applications.\nExperience or understanding of virtualization, containers, and Kubernetes.\nUnderstanding of provisioning, configuration management, and application-deployment tools; experience with Ansible or Terraform is a plus.\nUnderstanding of web application vulnerabilities.\nExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to details & deadlines.\nAbility to work under pressure and to easily flow with changes to priorities and projects.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a high-performance organization.\nBonus:\nExperience with load balancer or application delivery; familiarity with HAProxy is a plus.\nPast experience in DevOps or System Administration.\nBackground in Lua and C programming.\nExperience with Cloud architectures: AWS, Azure, GCP.\nExperience or understanding of SystemD.\nAbout the team\nWe’re a unique collection of talented and passionate people with a shared vision of simplifying the complexity of modern application architectures.
