There is never a dull moment with us.\n\nJob Description / Preferred Qualifications\nMechatronics systems design engineers are part of a multidisciplinary team that develops metrology equipment used in the semiconductor industry to enable our customers to solve very challenging requirements.\n\nExcellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal.\n\nWork independently on data collection, analysis, calibration, and writing scripts using Python or Matlab.\n\nPerform hands‑on work with hardware and gather the necessary data in the lab or the cleanroom.\n\nDefine plans for system integration, testing, and troubleshooting.\n\nGood understanding of feedback control system design, system identification, signal processing, and its application to control and characterize mechanical systems.\n\nKnowledge of numerical optimization and image processing a plus.\n\nStrong experience with experimental design and hardware‑in‑the‑loop experimentation to retire design risks.\n\nBasic/Intermediate knowledge of precision machine design.\n\nWillingness to take on responsibility and ability to quickly ramp from the existing documentation and on‑the‑job training.\n\nWork closely with the customer support organization.\n\nSome travel to customer sites\nMinimum Qualifications\nDoctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Master’s Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years; Bachelor’s Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years.\n\nBase Pay Range: $141,300.00 - $240,200.00\n\nPrimary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas\n\nKLA’s total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.
