This role helps ensure construction work complies with approved plans, specifications, codes, and permits.\n\nThe position supports a range of inspection activities including site inspections, daily reporting, and coordination with project teams. This role is suited for individuals developing their inspection skills as well as those with prior experience who can contribute with increasing independence.\n\nThis role is designed to support both developing and more experienced inspectors, with responsibilities scaled based on experience and demonstrated capability.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nMonitor construction work progress and assist in documenting daily activities.\n\nPerform routine site inspections to support compliance with approved plans, specifications, codes, and permits.\n\nAssist in preparing daily reports, including weather, equipment, labor, and construction activities; contribute to monthly reporting.\n\nSupport the review and tracking of change orders, invoices, and payment applications under guidance.\n\nMaintain organized records of construction activities, contingency and field charges.\n\nParticipate in commissioning, testing, and start-up activities under supervision.\n\nAssist in preparing project documentation and close-out materials.\n\nReview design and bidding documents for clarity and completeness with support from senior staff.\n\nIdentify and report potential risks or issues in the field to project leads.\n\nCoordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to support issue resolution.\n\nFlexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.\n\nMay provide mentorship, guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing to help less experienced team members develop their skills and grow within their roles.\n\nSkills and Competencies\n\nWorking knowledge of construction materials, methods, and applicable codes and standards.\n\nAbility to read and interpret basic construction plans and specifications.\n\nFoundational verbal and written communication skills for coordination with project teams.\n\nAbility to follow inspection protocols and document findings accurately.\n\nCore knowledge of safety requirements\n\nAbility to walk around a construction site of varying size and topography to perform inspections and ability to stand for several hours observing and documenting critical construction activities\n\nExperience\n\nTypically, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in construction inspection or related field is required.\n\nEducation\n\nHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nNASSCO PACP, MACP, or LACP certification\n\nICC or related inspection certifications\n\nExperience with water, wastewater, or civil infrastructure projects\n\nFamiliarity with construction management or inspection software\n\nOSHA safety training\n\nWork Environment\n\nField-based role with regular site visits throughout the Phoenix metro area\n\nCollaborative environment supporting infrastructure project delivery\n\nOpportunities for continued career development in construction management and inspection\n\nSalary Range\nThe anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
