Functional Solution Architect, Data & AI – Solution Development – Hybrid (Raleigh, NC) We are seeking a highly client-facing Functional Solution Architect, AI & Data to join our consulting organization. This role is heavily focused on supporting sales pursuits, driving solution development, and engaging directly with clients onsite & remotely to shape, position, and close data and AI opportunities. The architect will partner closely with sales teams, technical solution architects, contracts and proposal leads, and engagement management to translate business challenges into compelling, outcome-driven solutions, while also maintaining shared accountability for pipeline progression and deal closure.This is a hybrid role, requiring one in-office day per week at our Raleigh office. Our service areas—Cloud & Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Data & AI, Digital Transformation, Learning & Development, and Project Management & Agile—are designed to create long-term success by aligning with your business goals and advancing to meet future demands.Key Responsibilities: Industry & Client Engagement ExperienceLead onsite and virtual client discovery sessions to understand business objectives and data maturityTravel to client locations to support sales pursuits, workshops, and executive presentationsFacilitate stakeholder workshops and strategy sessions to align on priorities and roadmap developmentTranslate business challenges into high-value data and AI use cases aligned to measurable outcomesAct as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders during early-stage and late-stage deal cyclesPosition data and AI as strategic enablers of decision-making and operational efficiencyPre-Sales, Pipeline Ownership & Solution Development Partner directly with sales teams to co-own pipeline development, progression, and conversion across targeted accountsDrive solution strategy and positioning to align with client priorities and buying driversCollaborate with Technical Solution Architects to align functional vision with technical feasibilityWork alongside Contracts and Proposal Leads to develop compelling SOWs, pricing strategies, and deliverablesSupport and lead RFx responses with strong value propositions and differentiated solution approachesPresent, defend, and refine solutions with executive stakeholders to accelerate deal closureTrack and influence deal progression, identifying risks, blockers, and actions required to move opportunities forwardFunctional & Technical Expertise Define data strategies, governance models, and analytics frameworks aligned to business outcomesTranslate business processes into data workflows, models, and reporting structuresStructure AI use cases with clear value realization and adoption strategiesAlign data and AI initiatives with enterprise architecture and cloud platformsSupport development in theory of solution creation to support scalable data and AI operating models and acceleratorsLeadership, Delivery Alignment & Engagement Management Partner with Engagement Management to ensure solutions are executable and aligned to delivery modelsSupport seamless transition from sales to delivery through clear documentation and expectationsMaintain involvement post-sale to ensure alignment to client expectations and solution intent where feasibleAct as a leader in cross-functional deal teams balancing business value, technical feasibility, and commercial outcomesKey Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or related field or equivalent experience8 to 10 years of experience in data, analytics, AI, or consulting rolesStrong experience supporting sales cycles and influencing deal closureDemonstrated experience contributing to or co-owning pipeline and revenue targetsWillingness and ability to travel for client onsite engagementsStrong executive presence and presentation skillsExperience developing SOWs, pricing, and proposalsAbility to translate business needs into compelling solution narrativesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsOur CultureAt TSG, our culture is grounded in taking care of one another.
