IT Business Analyst II

We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst II to serve as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and Information Technology teams. This role partners closely with business units to understand operational needs, evaluate current processes, and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions that align with organizational strategy.The IT Business Analyst II combines strong business domain knowledge with technical acumen to improve systems, streamline processes, and support the full system development lifecycle—from discovery through implementation and testing.What You’ll Do:Business Analysis & Requirements GatheringPartner with business units to understand operational goals, challenges, and technology needsGather and analyze requirements using interviews, workshops, document analysis, workflow analysis, and use casesTranslate high‑level business requirements into clear, detailed functional specificationsEvaluate information from multiple sources, identify gaps, and resolve conflicting inputsDistinguish user requests from underlying business needsSolution Design & DeliveryCollaborate with developers, architects, and subject matter experts to define technical solutionsSupport system design by balancing usability, performance, and business prioritiesAssist with business process redesign and documentation for new or enhanced systemsProvide support throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including testing and implementationManage and communicate changes to requirements as solutions evolveStakeholder CollaborationAct as a trusted advisor to both technical and non‑technical partnersFacilitate communication between business units and IT from initial requirements through final deliveryEducate IT teams on business unit priorities, strategies, and operational contextStay current on technology trends and recommend solutions that improve business outcomesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field5+ years of experience in IT business analysis or a related roleStrong experience with business analysis methodologies and best practicesProven ability to produce functional specifications and business documentationExperience translating business needs into technical requirementsStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting enterprise IT systems and applicationsFamiliarity with business process modeling tools and techniquesExperience working in cross‑functional, multi‑stakeholder environmentsKnowledge of current technology trends and their practical business applicationsKey CompetenciesRequirements elicitation and documentationBusiness process analysis and improvementFunctional and technical translationStakeholder communication and negotiationChange management and ambiguity navigationAttention to detail and quality deliveryWork EnvironmentOffice‑based role with standard business equipmentPrimarily sedentary with occasional standing or movementScouting America is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
